What this calculator does

Compare a points-based grade before and after extra-credit points are added to earned points. It performs only the arithmetic described on this page. Enter values from the same course, practice set, score report, or scoring scale so the result remains meaningful.

Formula and worked method

Before = earned ÷ possible. After = (earned + extra credit) ÷ possible. The possible-point denominator stays unchanged. The result is recalculated immediately after you submit the form, and the displayed precision does not create extra certainty beyond the values entered.
