GRE ScoreSelect 2026: Most Recent, All and Any Score Reporting Options

What GRE ScoreSelect does

ScoreSelect lets GRE test takers choose which test administrations to send to designated institutions. ETS says the option can be used with General Test and Subject Test scores from the period in which scores remain reportable. For the GRE General Test, scores are reportable for five years after the test date.

Options available on test day

For each of the four score recipients included in the test fee, you can choose Most Recent or All. Most Recent sends scores from the current GRE General Test administration. All sends scores from all reportable GRE General Test administrations in the last five years.

Options after test day

When ordering an Additional Score Report after test day, ETS allows Most Recent, All or Any. The Any option lets you select one or multiple specific administrations from the reportable five-year history.

What institutions can see

ETS says institutional score reports show the scores and test dates you selected to send. They do not include scores you chose not to report, and there is no special notation telling the recipient that you took other GRE tests.

But program rules still matter

ScoreSelect does not override a graduate program's application requirements. ETS notes that some programs require applicants who took the GRE more than once to report all administrations. Read the score-reporting instructions for each program before choosing Any or Most Recent.

How to choose between options

Use Most Recent when the current administration is the one you want evaluated and program policy allows it. Use All when the program requests the full history or when your overall record is strategically helpful. Use Any after test day when you want to send specific administrations and the recipient's rules permit that choice.

Do not choose only by total score

Graduate programs can value Verbal and Quantitative scores differently. A later administration with a higher total impression may have a weaker section that matters more for a particular field. Compare the section profile with the program rather than assuming one administration is universally best.

Four included recipients

On test day you may designate up to four graduate institutions or fellowship sponsors as part of the test fee. Additional recipients ordered later cost extra. Use the included reports only when you have enough confidence in your program list and reporting strategy.
